Boosting Carrot Juice
I am crazy for carrots – it’s not even a secret. They are my number one snack, that I always carry in my bag. Dipped in hummus – you got me. For my birthday this year my guy friends even baked a carrot cake for me (it took them about three hours, they later told me), but it was just the sweetest thing.
I’ve always pitied that my blender wasn’t the biggest fan of blending carrots (no vitamix owner here), so I finally ended the self-pity and got myself a juicer! It’s incredible how huge they are – for the first 15 minutes I was convinced that they had sent me the wrong one – I hadn’t ordered the XXL version! Oh well, there goes my kitchen storage..
One of the first juices I made was this one. My love for carrots combined with the sweetness of apples, the sourness of lemon and the spice of ginger. Just perfect! I often start my morning with this ever boosting carrot juice.
Boosting Carrot Juice Recipe
- Prep Time: 5
- Servings: makes about 250ml
Ingredients
- 2 larger carrots
- 2 small apples (or 1 large)
- juice of ½ lemon
- 15g fresh ginger
Instructions
- Wash all the ingredients and peel the ginger. Remove the lemon zest and white peel, as it makes the lemon juice taste bitter.
- Put all through the juicer. Juice is the best when consumed right after making it. (Also, don't forget to wash your juicer quickly, it'll make things way easier - trust me.)
