Green Summer Smoothie

IMG_1269I have tried hard and long to think of anything food-related to say about this green smoothie. All I can come up with, is that it’s just really really good and that it makes the perfect summer drink.

My life has been turned upside down these past couple weeks. In between finishing my studies and starting a new job, I have now moved into my very first apartment. A little space just for myself, where I don’t have to feel bad for occupying the kitchen for too long or for making too big of a mess every once in a while. It’s been an exciting experience so far, but very tiring, since over the last two years my kitchen equipment has multiplied from nothing to a zillion boxes. All difficulties aside, it’s done now, and I am almost settled into my new space. I don’t have a kitchen or shelves yet, but I’m completely thrilled!

Green Summer Smoothie Recipe

  • Prep Time:
  • Servings: 2

½ cucumber

1-2 stalks of celery

2 handful baby spinach (or any other green leaves)

1 mango

1 banana

1 apple

juice of ½ lemon

  1. Place all the ingredients into a mixer and blend until smooth. If the smoothie is too thick, add some more water.
  2. A tip for extra warm summer days: Blend some ice cubes with the other ingredients. It’ll make the smoothie colder and more refreshing!

Welcome to my kitchen, my colourful world of nourishing foods. Here I choose to live healthy, eating whole, plant-based foods; a happy mix of vegetables, legumes, fruits, whole grains, nuts and seeds.

I am Pauline, a food lover and photographer from Berlin.

My recipes are simple, vegetarian dishes with plant-based and natural ingredients only. Perfect for everyday life. You do not have to be a skilled cook to have a balanced and healthy diet – I am not! An open mind and willingness to try out something new everyday shall be enough. It’s an infinite journey, and I am happy about everyone who decides to come along.
